After graduating from Clark University in Worcester, MA with a degree in Psychology/Biochem, Dr McDonald changed the course of her career by enrolling at Bastyr University rather than traditional medical school in Chicago. She is a 1996 graduate of Bastyr University and is a licensed Naturopathic Physician in the state of Washington.
She has been in practice for 24 years on the plateau. Her career path towards medicine began in Kindergarten and she followed that dream and opened her own practice in Enumclaw in January 1997 after a 9-month residency in Seattle.
Life took a change for Dr McDonald in 2008 when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Since then, she has focused her path on learning to thrive with any road bumps, while giving her even more insight into the struggles of her patients. She will be published in an upcoming book (fall 2020) talking about how this diagnosis changed her outlook on life and actually improved it.
Rainier Natural Health Clinic
As a Primary Care Provider, Dr McDonald sees patients with all types of concerns from Well Child or Well Adult exams to common colds to more chronic conditions. In her practice, she implements the doctrines of Naturopathic Medicine and takes the time to fully understand her patients’ health concerns and try to determine the cause of the complaints.
In addition to general family practice, Dr McDonald has a special interest in allergies (and elimination techniques), digestive complaints, hormone optimization, which includes thyroid, testosterone, estrogen and progesterone, and overall wellness. As a Naturopath in Washington, Dr. McDonald can prescribe most prescription medications but believes in the healing power of nature and uses them only when absolutely necessary.
Amazing Doctor! She took the time to really listen to me and understand my concerns! Within a few weeks under her care I was finally feeling like my old self, after over a year of feeling miserable! Thank you Dr. McDonald!
I finally found someone to listen. After years of seeing so many doctors, Dr. McDonald actually took the time to listen to me, hear my concerns, and find solutions! I am forever grateful.
